Target Information
Bovine caspase-3, a 32 kDa executioner cysteine protease, is ubiquitously expressed as an inactive zymogen and cleaved into p17/p12 fragments during apoptosis. Its activated form targets>100 cytoskeletal, nuclear and mitochondrial substrates, culminating in DNA fragmentation and cellular dismantling. Detectable by Western blot, IHC and colorimetric activity assays, caspase-3 serves as a robust marker for evaluating stress, infection or drug-induced apoptosis in mammary, ovarian, lymphoid and cultured cells, providing a quantitative readout of tissue turnover and therapeutic efficacy.
Shipping and Storage
This product is shipped with wet ice packs. Store at -20°C on receipt (up to 12 months). Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody.
