Target Information

α-amylase is an enzyme widely present in plants, animals and microorganisms. Its main function is to catalyze the hydrolysis reaction of starch and break down starch into smaller sugar molecules (such as maltose and glucose). This enzyme is often involved in carbohydrate metabolism and energy storage processes in plants. Alpha-amylase 1 is an enzyme encoded by the AMY1A gene. Amylases are secreted proteins that hydrolyze 1,4-alpha-glucoside bonds in oligosaccharides and polysaccharides, catalyzing the initial step in the digestion of dietary starch and glycogen. Alpha-amylase 1 in rabbits may be involved in carbohydrate metabolism processes similar to alpha-amylase function in other organisms.

Target/Biomarker Rabbit AMY1
Target Synonym Alpha-amylase 1A; 1,4-alpha-D-glucan glucanohydrolase 1; Salivary alpha-amylase; AMY1A; AMY1
