Target Information
In rabbits, the ADIPOR1 gene encodes the adiponectin receptor 1, which belongs to the progestin and adipoQ receptor (PAQR) family and is also known as PAQR1. The adiponectin receptors, AdipoR1 and AdipoR2, function as receptors for both globular and full-length adiponectin. They mediate enhanced activities of AMPK and PPAR-α ligands, and facilitate fatty acid oxidation and glucose uptake in response to adiponectin. Although there is no direct evidence for a specific function of ADIPOR1 in rabbits, it is hypothesized that ADIPOR1 may be involved in the regulation of biological processes such as lipid metabolism, insulin resistance, and adipose differentiation, based on its roles in other species (e.g., mice and humans).
