Prochloraz-KLH Antigen

Prochloraz is a broad-spectrum imidazole fungicide widely utilized in agriculture to control fungal infections in fruits, vegetables, and cereal crops. Its relevance to animal-derived food safety stems from the potential "carry-over" effect, where livestock ingest prochloraz residues via treated crop by-products, animal feed, or contaminated straw. Studies indicate that prochloraz acts as an endocrine disruptor with anti-androgenic and estrogenic properties, posing chronic health risks. Consequently, global regulatory agencies have established stringent Maximum Residue Limits (MRLs) for prochloraz and its metabolites in animal matrices-such as bovine and porcine meat, fat, liver, kidney, and milk-to prevent contaminated chemical residues from entering the human food supply chain.
