Target Information

Vitronectin (VTN) is a glycoprotein found in blood plasma, synthesized and excreted by the liver. It is abundant in serum, the extracellular matrix, and bone. Vitronectin is encoded by the VTN gene in pigs. Vitronectin functions in blood homeostasis and is associated with cell adhesion, migration, and proliferation. It could potentially impact residual feed intake or feeding efficiency in swine production.
