Target Information
Thioredoxin Reductase 1, Cytoplasmic is encoded by the TXNRD1 gene in pigs. TXNRD1 is the only known enzyme that catalyzes the reduction of thioredoxin. It is a central component of the thioredoxin system. By catalyzing these reductions, it helps protect cells from oxidative stress. TRXR1 also acts synergistically with MAP3K13 to regulate the activation of NF-kappa-B in the cytosol. It is primarily found in the cytoplasm, where it contributes to maintaining cellular redox balance.
