Target Information

S100 calcium binding protein A6 is encoded by the S100A6 gene in pigs. S100A6 belongs to the S100 protein family and has two EF-hand motifs that bind Ca2+ or interact with other proteins. The protein is involved in various cellular processes, including cell migration, apoptosis, inflammation, and cancer. Studies have demonstrated that the S100A6 gene is upregulated in response to different stimuli, such as exposure to toxins, pathogens, and cytokines.
