Target Information
Pancreatic Triacylglycerol Lipase is encoded by the PNLIP gene in pigs. Pancreatic lipase breaks down triglyceride substrates found in ingested oils. It converts them into monoglycerides and free fatty acids. Porcine pancreatic enzyme consists of a single chain of 449 amino acids. It is a key enzyme in the intraluminal digestion of fats, rapidly hydrolyzing long-chain triacylglycerol derivatives into more polar fragments.
