Target Information

Nitric oxide synthase 2 (NOS2), also known as inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS), is an enzyme encoded by the NOS2 gene in pigs. NOS2 is one of the three isoforms of nitric oxide synthase. It is inducible and is expressed in response to various stimuli, including lipopolysaccharide (LPS) and certain cytokines. It produces nitric oxide (NO), a reactive free radical involved in various biological activities. It is widely expressed in various cell types and is significantly induced by PAMPs under certain infectious or inflammatory stimuli.
