Specifications
Target Information
Nicotinamide phosphoribosyltransferase (NAMPT), also known as pre-B-cell colony-enhancing factor 1 (PBEF1) or visfatin (for its extracellular form), is an enzyme encoded by the NAMPT gene in pigs. NAMPT catalyzes the transfer of a phosphoribosyl group from 5-phosphoribosyl-1-pyrophosphate (PRPP) to nicotinamide, forming nicotinamide mononucleotide (NMN). NMN is a key intermediate in the NAD pathway, which is essential for various cellular processes. It is the rate-limiting enzyme in the biosynthesis of nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide.
