Target Information
Myosin light-chain kinase (MLCK) is a serine/threonine-specific protein kinase that phosphorylates a specific myosin light chain, namely, the regulatory light chain of myosin II. Myosin Light Chain Kinase, Smooth Muscle is encoded by the MYLK gene in pigs. Smooth muscle myosin light chain kinase is a ubiquitous kinase that is abundant in the uterus and present in other contracting tissues, including cardiac muscle. It can also specifically phosphorylate myosin regulatory light chain S15 in porcine ventricular myosin.
