Target Information

Myosin II minifilaments bind to F-actin via motor head domains, forming contractile structures important to cell shape change and motility of muscle and nonmuscle cells. Smooth muscle and non-muscle cells express a myosin II molecule consisting of a pair of heavy chains forming two globular head domains (containing the actin and ATP binding sites), a neck domain (containing the light chain binding sites) and a coiled-coil tail domain. Myosin-2 is encoded by the MYH2 gene in pigs. It is a member of myosin heavy chain (MyHC) isoforms.

Target/Biomarker Porcine MYH2
Target Synonym Myosin-2; Myosin heavy chain 2; Myosin heavy chain 2a; MyHC-2a; Myosin heavy chain; skeletal muscle; adult 2; MYH2
Gene ID 397256
UniProt ID Q9TV63
