Target Information
Endoplasmin is encoded by the HSP90B1 gene in pigs. It plays critical roles in folding proteins in the secretory pathway, such as Toll-like receptors and integrins. It has been implicated as an essential immune chaperone to regulate both innate and adaptive immunity. According to reports, the SARS-CoV-2 ORF8L and ORF8S proteins inhibit the production of IFN-I by targeting HSP90B1, which is associated with IRF3. This results in the suppression of the host's antiviral immunity.
