Target Information

Glutathione S-transferase Omega-1 is encoded by the GSTO1 gene in pigs. GSTO1 exhibits glutathione-dependent thiol transferase and dehydroascorbate reductase activities. It also acts as an S-(phenacyl)glutathione reductase and has glutathione S-transferase activity. GSTO1-1, a specific class of GST, is directly involved in regulating the crosstalk between apoptosis and autophagy by modulating a specific type of protein modification known as glutathionylation.
