Target Information
Deoxyribonuclease I (usually referred to as DNase I) is an endonuclease of the DNase family encoded by the DNASE1 gene in pigs. DNase I is a nuclease that cleaves DNA preferentially at phosphodiester bonds adjacent to a pyrimidine nucleotide, yielding 5'-phosphate-terminated polynucleotides with a free hydroxyl group at the 3' position, and on average produces tetranucleotides. The mature porcine DNase I protein was found to consist of 262 amino acids. Porcine DNase I is more sensitive to low pH than rat or bovine enzymes.
