Target Information

D-dimer is a peptide found in serum and is derived from the degradation of blood clots. Normally, D-dimer is undetectable or only present at very low levels unless your body is forming and breaking down significant blood clots. A positive or elevated D-dimer result may indicate that you have a blood clotting disorder. In porcine saliva, D-dimer concentration can be influenced by stressful conditions.
