Native Porcine Cerebral Cortex Adenosine 5'-Triphosphatase (ATPase)-Active
Product Overview
BioVenic's Native Porcine Cerebral Cortex Adenosine 5'-Triphosphatase (ATPase)-Active is a native protein derived from Porcine Cerebral Cortex.
Specifications
Target Information
Adenosine 5'-Triphosphatase (ATPase) hydrolyzes ATP to ADP and orthophosphate. Sodium/potassium-transporting ATPase subunit beta-1 (ATP1B1) is the non-catalytic component of the active enzyme. It regulates, through assembly of alpha/beta heterodimers, the number of sodium pumps transported to the plasma membrane. Sodium/potassium-transporting ATPase subunit alpha-1 (ATP1A1) is the catalytic component of the active enzyme. It catalyzes the hydrolysis of ATP coupled with the exchange of sodium and potassium ions across the plasma membrane. Research has shown that NO donors may release NO or NO-derived products and may inhibit the Na+,K(+)-ATPase activity by interacting with a SH group at the active site of the enzyme.
