Target Information
Caspase-1, also known as interleukin-1β converting enzyme (ICE), is an evolutionarily conserved enzyme that proteolytically cleaves other proteins. Caspase-1 is encoded by the CASP1 gene in pigs. It is an enzyme that proteolytically cleaves other proteins, such as the precursors of the inflammatory cytokines IL1B and IL18 and the pyroptosis inducer gasdermin D, into active mature peptides. Research has shown that porcine GSDMD can be cleaved by pcaspase-1.
