The Peptoniphilus genus is a component of both the vaginal and gut microbiota. Peptoniphilus asaccharolyticus are Gram-positive anaerobic cocci (GPAC) typically present as commensals on the skin or as part of polymicrobial colonization in chronic wounds and ulcers.
