Target Information

Paraclostridium species are part of the Clostridia class, characterized by gram-positive, rod-shaped, obligate anaerobic bacteria that thrive in various mesophilic environments, including soil, marine ecosystems, polluted waters, and clinical specimens. Paraclostridium bifermentans is an anaerobic, motile, gram-positive bacterium and is the most widely distributed species within the Paraclostridium genus. Although rare, it can lead to severe human infections.
