Target Information

Selectin, Endothelium is encoded by the sheep gene SELE. It is a member of the selectins, a family of three C-type lectins that can mediate interactions between leukocytes, platelets and the endothelium. It is inducibly expressed on activated endothelial cells and mediates leukocyte adhesion during inflammation. E-selectin plays an important role in leukocyte recruitment to sites of inflammation through its close association with P-selectin.
