Target Information

Aldosterone is a hormone produced by the adrenal glands that helps regulate blood pressure and electrolyte balance in the body. It plays a crucial role in the reabsorption of sodium and the excretion of potassium, helping to maintain proper fluid balance and blood pressure levels. The ovine fetus is not able to cope with hyperkalemia by increasing blood aldosterone concentration.
