Target Information
Zinc Finger Homeobox Protein 1B, also known as SIP1 or ZFHX1B, is a transcriptional inhibitor that binds to the DNA sequence 5'-CACCT-3' in various promoters, repressing the transcription of E-cadherin and the expression of MEOX2. ZEB2 is crucial for the development of the mouse brain and spinal cord, as it regulates the migration and differentiation of cortical neurons, particularly in forming cortical granule cells and interneurons. Additionally, ZEB2 is involved in regulating midbrain dopamine axon growth and targeted projections; its absence leads to excessive innervation of striatal neurons.
