Target Information
CCN family member 4 (CCN4) acts as a downstream regulator in the Wnt/Frizzled-signaling pathway and is associated with cell survival. It adheres to skin and melanoma fibroblasts, with in vitro binding to skin fibroblasts occurring through the proteoglycans decorin and biglycan. In mice, CCN4 has diverse roles in tissue remodeling, tumor progression, vascular biology, bone metabolism, fibrosis, and arthritis. In a prostate cancer model, CCN4 expression is linked to tumor growth and bone metastasis. The use of anti-CCN4 antibodies can inhibit bone metastasis of PC-3-Luc cells, highlighting CCN4's significant role in the early development and bone metastasis of prostate cancer.
