Target Information

Protein C-ets-1 is a transcription factor that regulates the expression of cytokine and chemokine genes across various cellular contexts. It may influence the differentiation, survival, and proliferation of lymphoid cells. Mice lacking Ets1 (Ets1 KO) spontaneously develop autoimmune diseases and exhibit elevated levels of autoantibodies. Research indicates that Ets1-deficient CD4+ T cells are more prone to differentiate into Th17 cells, which secrete IL-17, a crucial factor in the development of autoimmune diseases. Furthermore, Ets1-deficient mice display significantly reduced numbers of NK cells and impaired functions, such as an inability to produce adequate IL-4.
