Target Information
Tumor necrosis factor ligand superfamily member 10, also known as Tumor Necrosis Factor Related Apoptosis Inducing Ligand (TRAIL), is a cytokine that binds to receptors such as TNFRSF10A/TRAILR1, TNFRSF10B/TRAILR2, TNFRSF10C/TRAILR3, TNFRSF10D/TRAILR4, and potentially TNFRSF11B/OPG. It is known for inducing apoptosis. Its activity may be modulated by its binding to decoy receptors like TNFRSF10C/TRAILR3, TNFRSF10D/TRAILR4, and TNFRSF11B/OPG, which do not trigger apoptosis. In mice, the functions of TNFSF10 are complex and varied, encompassing roles in cell apoptosis and immune regulation, and are intricately linked to the onset and progression of various diseases. In mouse natural killer cells, TNFSF10 expression is associated with the p53 signaling pathway and can increase cell sensitivity to chemotherapeutic drugs.
