Target Information
Tumor necrosis factor ligand superfamily member 13 (TNFSF13) is a cytokine that interacts with receptors TNFRSF13B/TACI and TNFRSF17/BCMA, playing a role in controlling tumor cell growth and possibly participating in monocyte/macrophage-driven immune processes. In mice, TNFSF13, also known as APRIL, fulfills various functions, including regulating immune responses, preserving intestinal barrier integrity, and promoting tumor cell proliferation. By binding to its receptors BAFF and TACI, TNFSF13 influences B cell and T cell activities in mice. Research indicates that mice lacking TNFSF13 experience increased T cell proliferation and enhanced production of Th2 cytokines, like IL-13 and IL-17, under nonspecific stimulation, while also boosting IL-13 and IL-17 production in Th2 conditions.
