Target Information
Tryptase is the primary neutral protease found in mast cells and is released during the coupled activation-degranulation response of these cells. It may have a role in innate immunity. In mice, mast cell tryptase is primarily involved in immune response, inflammation, and various pathological processes in disease models. In models of mouse allergies, mast cell tryptase is closely associated with the severity of allergic reactions. Furthermore, in a mouse aortic dissection model, mast cell tryptase has been shown to induce endothelial cells to express chemokines IL-8 and MCP-1, influencing the adhesion and migration of leukocytes.
