Target Information

Transcriptional activator Myb is a DNA-binding protein that specifically recognizes the sequence 5'-YAAC[GT]G-3' and acts as a transcriptional activator. It plays a crucial role in regulating the proliferation and differentiation of hematopoietic progenitor cells. MYB, particularly c-Myb, is vital in the hematopoietic system, where it regulates the proliferation and differentiation of both hematopoietic and neural progenitor cells. Mouse models with MYB overexpression have demonstrated that excessive MYB activation can lead to the development of B cell and myeloid tumors. Conversely, the absence of MYB results in B cell development disorders, as MYB is essential for B cell development.
