Target Information
Thyroid stimulating hormone receptor antibodies (TSHR Ab), also known as TRAb, can have both stimulatory and blocking effects on the thyroid gland. These antibodies, which stimulate the thyrotropin receptor (TSHR), are the underlying cause of Graves' hyperthyroidism and are unique to humans. In mice, TSHR antibodies can be generated through immunization. Studies in mouse models show that TSHR antibodies play a key role in the occurrence and development of Graves disease. By studying the functions and mechanisms of these antibodies, the pathophysiological processes of Graves disease can be better understood and a theoretical basis for the development of new treatments.
