Target Information
Tetraspanin 30 (CD30) is involved in regulating the signaling, proliferation, and migration of immune cells in mice by forming an intricate network with other Tetraspanin proteins. Its dysfunction may result in dysregulated immune responses and is potentially linked to the development of certain diseases. CD30 interacts with various cell surface molecules to create a "Tetraspanin network," essential for modulating cell signaling, migration, and adhesion. Mice lacking CD30 exhibit T cell hyperactivation and increased dendritic cell stimulation but show a reduced immune response to certain pathogens. In mouse models, CD30 deficiency also results in abnormal T cell-mediated immune responses. For example, when infected with Plasmodium yoelii, CD30-deficient mice were unable to effectively produce specific T cells and experienced severe subacute febrile reactions.
