Target Information
The Substance-P receptor, also known as the Neurokinin 1 Receptor, is a receptor for the tachykinin neuropeptide substance P. It is likely associated with G proteins that activate a phosphatidylinositol-calcium second messenger system. The receptor's affinity for tachykinins is ranked as follows: substance P> substance K> neuromedin K. In mice, this receptor is encoded by the Tacr1 gene. Tachykinin Receptor 1 (NK1R) has a wide range of functions in mice, involving pain perception, emotion regulation, immune response, reproductive function, metabolic regulation and many other aspects.
