Target Information
Survivin is an anti-apoptotic protein with several critical biological functions in mice, contributing to cell proliferation, differentiation, and the maintenance of tissue homeostasis. It plays a vital role in mouse embryonic development. For instance, during the formation of pancreatic β cells and islet cells in the neonatal period, survivin exhibits a transient expression pattern, highlighting its importance in the remodeling and establishment of pancreatic β cells. Additionally, in inner ear development, survivin is widely expressed during the proliferation phase of the otic cyst cavity, gradually decreasing as differentiation and maturation occur, signifying its role in the proliferation and differentiation of inner ear cells and organ morphology formation. Studies indicate that mice lacking survivin are embryonically lethal, and in T cell-specific survivin knockout models, the absence of survivin prevents double-negative (CD4−CD8−) T cells from progressing to the double-positive (CD4+CD8+) stage, thereby impacting T cell maturation and function.
