Mouse Stanniocalcin 1 (STC1) ELISA Kit-Sandwich

Stanniocalcin-1 enhances renal phosphate reabsorption and may help prevent hypercalcemia. In mice, STC1 is involved in bone and muscle development, regulation of calcium and phosphorus homeostasis, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant functions, neuroprotection, and effects related to tumors. In STC1 transgenic mice, both bone size and density are reduced, and osteoblast activity is inhibited. Additionally, STC1 influences bone growth by regulating osteoblast differentiation and chondrogenesis. Originally identified as a calcium-phosphorus homeostasis regulator in fish, STC1 is also widely expressed in mammals, where it maintains calcium-phosphorus balance by promoting phosphate reabsorption. In mice, either overexpression or knockout of STC1 impacts the kidney's capacity to manage calcium and phosphorus, consequently affecting overall calcium-phosphorus metabolism.
