Target Information

Sirt1 is an NAD-dependent protein deacetylase that integrates transcriptional regulation with intracellular energy dynamics, playing a central role in coordinating diverse cellular functions such as the cell cycle, DNA damage response, metabolism, apoptosis, and autophagy. In mice, Sirt1 exhibits broad and critical biological roles, encompassing metabolism, energy balance, cell survival, immune regulation, and tissue repair. Specifically, Sirt1 modulates lipid metabolism in the liver by activating the AMPK signaling pathway, which suppresses fatty acid synthesis and enhances fatty acid oxidation. This mechanism helps mitigate hepatic steatosis induced by a high-fat diet.
