Target Information
Serine/Arginine Rich Splicing Factor 4 (SRSF4) is involved in choosing alternative splice sites during pre-mRNA splicing and specifically inhibits the splicing of the MAPT/Tau exon 10. In mice, SRSF4, also known as proline/arginine-rich splicing factor 4, is essential for various physiological functions, including blood cell formation, heart function, and metabolism regulation. In mice lacking Dkc1 (a model for X-linked dysplasia), SRSF4 protein levels are markedly reduced. These mice experience bone marrow failure and a decrease in proliferation capacity, highlighting the critical role SRSF4 plays in the proliferation and differentiation of hematopoietic stem cells and their progenitors. Additionally, in the reproductive system, androgen hormones regulate the expression of SRSF4 in Sertoli cells of mice.
