Target Information
ROCK1, also known as rho-associated, coiled-coil-containing protein kinase 1, is a protein serine/threonine kinase. Other commonly used names for this protein include ROKβ and P160ROCK. As a primary downstream effector of the small GTPase RhoA, ROCK1 plays a key role in regulating the actomyosin cytoskeleton to promote contractile force generation. In mice, it is encoded by the ROCK1 gene. The functions of ROCK1 in mice are broad and diverse, involving multiple systems including cardiac, vascular, metabolic, inflammatory, neural, and muscular. Its specific roles in different tissues and environments may vary depending on subcellular localization, activation status, and other environmental factors.
