Target Information

Retinoic acid receptor RXR-gamma (also known as Nuclear receptor subfamily 2 group B member 3) is a receptor responsive to retinoic acid. These receptors form heterodimers and bind to target response elements upon exposure to their ligands, such as all-trans or 9-cis retinoic acid, thereby regulating gene expression across various biological processes. The RAR/RXR heterodimers attach to retinoic acid response elements (RARE), consisting of tandem 5'-AGGTCA-3' sites, known as DR1-DR5. The high-affinity ligand for RXRs is 9-cis retinoic acid. In mice, the Rxrg gene encodes this receptor.
