Target Information

Transforming protein RhoA is a small GTPase that alternates between an active GTP-bound state and an inactive GDP-bound state. It primarily plays a role in organizing the cytoskeleton. When active, it binds to various effector proteins to control cellular processes such as cytoskeletal dynamics, cell migration, and cell cycle progression. RhoA regulates a signaling pathway that connects plasma membrane receptors with the formation of focal adhesions and actin stress fibers. It also participates in a microtubule-dependent signal necessary for forming the myosin contractile ring during cytokinesis in the cell cycle. In mice, the Rhoa gene encodes it.
