Target Information

Prothrombin fragment 1+2 is a fragment released when prothrombin is activated by thrombin, indicating the activation status of the coagulation cascade. Thus, F1+2 serves as a critical marker for assessing the early activation of the blood coagulation system. In mouse models, fluctuations in F1+2 levels are typically closely tied to thrombin generation. In certain disease models, such as hypertensive mice (Ren-Tg mice), F1+2 levels are notably elevated, suggesting a link between coagulation system activation and disease progression. Changes in F1+2 levels are frequently used in mouse experiments to evaluate the activation degree of the coagulation system; for instance, in some inflammatory or ischemic models, increased F1+2 levels may indicate abnormal coagulation system activation.
