Target Information

PRKCA-binding protein is likely an adapter protein that binds and organizes the subcellular localization of various membrane proteins containing PDZ recognition sequences. It is involved in clustering different receptors, potentially by influencing receptor internalization. This protein plays a role in synaptic plasticity by regulating the trafficking and internalization of AMPA receptors and may be modulated following PRKCA activation. In mice, the primary function of PICK1 is to regulate neuronal signal transduction, synaptic plasticity, and mechanosensory function by interacting with synaptic receptors like AMPA receptors, mechanosensory channels, and other proteins.
