Mouse Procollagen III (PCIII) ELISA Kit-Sandwich

In mice, type III procollagen is primarily involved in the formation, repair, and fibrosis of connective tissue. Its expression is regulated by various factors. For instance, in Tight Skin (Tsk) mice, the negative regulatory effect of the AP-1 transcription factor is weakened, leading to a substantial increase in the expression of α1(I) and α1(III) procollagen genes, resulting in excessive collagen accumulation in the skin and other tissues. In myocardial fibrosis, fibroblast growth factor 23 (FGF23) significantly elevates the expression of type III procollagen in mouse cardiac fibroblasts by activating the β-catenin pathway, thereby promoting myocardial fibrosis. After tendon injury, the expression of type III procollagen increases, aiding in tendon repair. Additionally, type III procollagen undergoes dynamic changes in liver fibrosis; in the case of carbon tetrachloride-induced liver fibrosis, its expression significantly rises in the early stages, indicating its potential role during the initial phase of fibrosis.
