Target Information
Platelet-derived growth factor D is a growth factor crucial for regulating embryonic development, cell proliferation, cell migration, survival, and chemotaxis. It is a powerful mitogen for cells of mesenchymal origin and plays a significant role in wound healing. Research indicates that mice lacking platelet-derived growth factor D exhibit a mild vascular phenotype. PDGF-D has also shown a significant role in obesity-related diseases. It was found that PDGF-D was highly expressed in abdominal aortic aneurysms (AA) in obese mice and promoted AA by mediating inflammatory responses.
