Target Information

Phosphoenolpyruvate Carboxykinase 1, Soluble (also known as Pck1), is a cytosolic enzyme that catalyzes the reversible decarboxylation and phosphorylation of oxaloacetate (OAA) and serves as the rate-limiting enzyme in gluconeogenesis. In mice, Pck1 is involved in various biological functions, including gluconeogenesis, fatty acid metabolism, insulin resistance, tumor suppression, and metabolic regulation in the kidney and liver. The absence of Pck1 can lead to the progression of non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) and promote fibrosis by activating the PI3K/AKT/PDGF signaling axis.
