Mouse Pancreatic Beta Cells-MIN6

Cat. No.CC9F21

Product TypeAnimal Cells and Cell Lines

Product Overview

MIN6 cells are derived from an insulinoma (a pancreatic beta-cell tumor) in a transgenic mouse. This cell line originated from C57BL/6 mouse pancreatic beta-cell tumors that were transformed by the Simian virus 40 (SV40). MIN6 cells retain many functional characteristics of pancreatic beta cells, including the ability to secrete insulin in response to glucose stimulation. They also express key beta-cell markers such as insulin, insulin receptor, GLUT2, PDX1, and Nkx6.1. MIN6 cells are an important cell model widely used in various areas of diabetes research.
