Target Information

IgG1 is a predominant subclass of IgG commonly linked to Th2-type immune responses, playing a crucial role in allergic reactions and autoimmune diseases. In allergic responses, IgG1 often works in conjunction with IgE. For instance, a study demonstrated that nasal administration of OVA in mice triggered a systemic immune response, leading to the production of both IgG1 and IgE. Additionally, the levels of OVA-specific IgG1 were notably elevated in an allergic asthma model, especially when accompanied by exposure to LPS (lipopolysaccharide). The amount of OVA-induced IgG1 is closely related to the severity of systemic allergic reactions to OVA in mice, such as anaphylactic shock. In vaccine research, OVA-induced IgG1 levels are a critical metric for assessing vaccine efficacy. Moreover, the production of OVA-induced IgG1 significantly decreased in older mice, indicating that age may influence IgG1 production.
