Target Information
When mice were exposed to ovalbumin in different ways, specific IgG antibodies were produced. For example, mice can be induced to produce specific IgG antibodies against OVA by subcutaneous injection of OVA or OVA in combination with CpG oligonucleotides (ODN). This reaction was observed in both young and elderly mice, and levels of IgG antibodies were detected in plasma. Ovalbumin specific Immunoglobulin G and its subclass responses are associated with the duration of egg sensitization. Measuring OVA IgG1 concentration during infancy could be a valuable tool to identify individuals at an increased risk of developing asthma.
