Target Information
The generation of OVA-specific IgE is typically associated with allergic reactions. For instance, in mice, a notable increase in serum levels of OVA-specific IgE is observed during allergic reactions triggered by subcutaneous OVA injections, which are linked to IgE-mediated allergies. Research has shown that when mice are exposed to OVA via oral or inhalation pathways, their serum levels of OVA-specific IgE rise significantly, highlighting OVA-specific IgE production as a key indicator of allergic responses. The detection of OVA-specific IgE is commonly performed using the ELISA method. By measuring OVA-specific IgE in mouse serum through ELISA, the severity of allergic reactions can be assessed. The primary role of OVA-specific IgE is to initiate allergic inflammatory responses by attaching to IgE receptors on mast cells and basophils.
