Mouse Neuregulin 4 (NRG4) ELISA Kit-Sandwich

Neuregulin 4 (Nrg4) is a ligand with low affinity for the ERBB4 tyrosine kinase receptor, which simultaneously recruits ERBB1 and ERBB2 as coreceptors, leading to the ligand-induced tyrosine phosphorylation and activation of the ERBB receptors. Importantly, Nrg4 does not bind to ERBB1, ERBB2, or ERBB3 receptors. In mice, Nrg4 plays diverse physiological roles, including maintaining metabolic balance, offering anti-inflammatory protection, supporting neurodevelopment, boosting the activity of brown adipose tissue, and enhancing insulin secretion. A deficiency in Nrg4 can worsen conditions like high-fat diet-induced obesity, insulin resistance, and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), whereas mice engineered to overexpress Nrg4 exhibit significantly improved metabolic health.
