Target Information
Myeloid differentiation primary response protein MyD88 is an adaptor protein crucial for the Toll-like receptor and IL-1 receptor signaling pathways in the innate immune response. It functions through IRAK1, IRAK2, IRF7, and TRAF6, resulting in NF-kappa-B activation, cytokine secretion, and an inflammatory response. MyD88 also enhances IL-8 transcription and participates in the IL-18-mediated signaling pathway. In mice, MyD88 plays a diverse role in the immune system, including regulating the inflammatory response, providing anti-infective immunity, contributing to tumor immunity, assisting in tissue repair, and managing autoimmune regulation. MyD88-deficient mice exhibit reduced tumor growth in certain cancer models, while inhibition of the MyD88 signaling pathway boosts anti-tumor immune responses within the tumor microenvironment.
